For those of you who are visiting my blog and don’t really know how to cook very well or are scared of cooking….don’t be! Cooking is really easy. I didn’t always know how to cook and I have absolutely no professional training. I basically just watched my mom while I was growing up and I watch The Food Network A lot. In my opinion to be a good cook, you have to be organized. Yes organized. Now don’t be afraid, it’s not so bad….LOL!! Actually it will help you a great deal in the kitchen. The first thing I make sure is that my kitchen is clean. The counters are clean, no dishes in the sink and the stove is clean. For me cooking is an art and you have to work with a clean slate when creating art. The second thing I do is when I find the recipe I want to make, I read it over a couple of times before I begin. Then I do all my prepping. You can’t make a dish if you don’t have all your ingredients within reach. So yes you are going to have to chop, dice and mince before you actually start your cooking. If you don’t like to do that, you can always get one of those mini choppers. Also, another very important tool to have is a good sharp knife. Make sure your knife is very sharp. Believe it or not your chances of cutting yourself are less, if your knife is very sharp. Trust me, I learned the hard way. I cut myself many times because I was lazy about that. So if you follow all that advice you will have a great time in the kitchen. If you do make any of these recipes, I would love to know how they turned out.
