Pan Grilled Filet Mignon with a Soy Sauce Reduction
Serves 4
Ingredients
1 1/4 lbs. filet mignon cut up into large chunks
1/4-1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp. brown sugar
2 tbsp. sesame oil
1 tbsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. ground ginger
2 scallions, diced, for garnish
Directions
Combine all the ingredients except scallions in a ziploc bag and marinate the steak for at least 4 hours. Turning the bag over every hour or so.
Before grilling the steak, empty the marinade into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes or until sauce is reduced and a bit thicker.
Preheat a grill pan over high heat. Once the pan is hot, lower heat to medium-high. Place steak on the grill pan. Let it sit there for at least a minute before turning it over. Cook until desired doneness. If you like it very well done, you can finish it in the oven. Garnish with the scallions.
Enjoy!
What a delicious and gourmet dish!
