I love Marinara sauce and this once is real easy to make and doesn’t take very long either. It only uses a few ingredients so it’s perfect for a quick weeknight supper.
Simple Marinara Sauce
Serves 4
Ingredients
1 (28 oz) can of crushed tomatoes
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
3 cloves of garlic, sliced
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. chopped fresh basil
1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
salt and pepper, to taste
1 lb. pasta of your choice
Directions
In a large sauce pan over low heat sauté garlic in the olive oil until light golden but not brown. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar and salt and pepper. Stir to combine. Cook for 30 minutes, covered, stirring occasionally. Be careful when you lift off the cover to stir because it will splatter. During the last 10 minutes of cooking, add the basil. If the sauce is too thick, you can thin it out with a little water. Serve over pasta. This sauce freezes very well so you can make a double batch.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
I like your marinara sauce. Looks flavorful. My favorite part is that it is easy to prepare and that is most important for me.
