Spaghetti with White Clam Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 (6.5 oz) cans chopped clams with the broth
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsp. butter
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
- 6-8 large whole garlic cloves
- 6 large garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 lb spaghetti or linguini
- 1 cup of the pasta water
- ⅛ tsp freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
- ¼ cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions making sure to salt the water first. When the pasta is almost done cooking make the sauce.
- To a large sauté pan over medium heat add the olive oil and sauté the whole garlic and chopped garlic until lightly browned, stirring frequently. Be careful not to burn it. Add the butter to the pan and mix well with the garlic and oil. Add the clams with their broth and the cup of the pasta water, mix well and add in ½ of parsley. Cook for another minute or two.
- Drain the pasta and pour the sauce over it. Top with the grated cheese.
I don’t see Garlic listed in the ingredients; how much chopped garlic, and how many garlic cloves do you use?
Sorry about that…..I forgot to put in the best part….LOL!! I updated the recipe….6-8 whole cloves and about 6 large cloves chopped. It has lots of garlic but you can put more or less depending upon how much you want

Hi Sandi…you don’t have the amount of garlic in this recipe. I tend to use a lot anyway but I was wondering how much you use.
